Welcome! |
 Get
primed for an exciting year studying the Social Studies!
We will begin the year by sifting through the history
of Asia. We will start by studying the civilizations
of
the Indus river valley in ancient India. Then we will
journey to China to walk the Great Wall before visiting
the samurai warriors of feudal Japan. Next we will explore
the history and culture of Sub-Saharan Africa. We
will
trace the story of Europe from early days on the shores
of the Mediterranean Sea through the Middle Ages.
We will
explore how the Silk Road, the Gold-Salt Trade and the
Crusades have tied distant people together. Finally,
we
will traverse the Atlantic Ocean and discover the roots
of our own nation. Pack your bags and come along;
the
world is at your feet! |
